Done Yet? Nope.

~ Highlight of the Day: watching the stars from the driveway, just like on clear winter mornings in high school when we headed off to seminary in the dark ~

I am getting so close. . . I'm pretty much done with packing for Jerusalem and moving, I just need to finish filling and closing up all the boxes of my stuff.

Here's probably the biggest accomplishment of the day:

I threw away all my old trophies that I've been holding onto for years and years. That made one whole box just disapear! My mom pointed out that if I can't see myself displaying it in my own house someday then it's probably not something I need to keep. I've come to find that I agree with her on that regarding most items. I still can't part with some of my old girls camp beads. . . or my art projects from elementary school. I suppose I'll get plenty of chances in the future to go through and throw stuff out.

I also gave Bekah's weeping angel mask a nose job. With my dremel :)

It looks painful, but I assure you it's not!

Well, I'm sure I'll be terrible at posting while traveling, and as I'll be flying to Provo tomorrow I wouldn't expect too much for a day or two. I fly out to Jerusalem in 3 days! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Busy Day

~ Highlight of the Day: Discovering that ginkgos make beautiful carving wood ~

Today I did a lot.

I went to my first All Staff meeting.

I explained Temples* and General Conference*.

I watered a bajillion salvia while wearing awesome sunglasses.

I learned how to recognize the mosaic virus in cannas

I got chocolate milk at a local dairy

(it was 5 minutes away,

it took us 40. )

I sent important emails.

I swept our nasty floor, and lots of spiders.

I ate dinner with 5 British, 1 Japanese, 1 Korean, and 1 American.

I taught someone to play three chords on the ukulele

(I bet you can't guess which ones :)

I did the dishes.

I asked "how do you play Cricket?"

I tried to understand Cricket. . . I'm not sure I do yet. . .

I stayed up way too late, and then decided I wanted to still post something.

*Temple: LDS building dedicated as a House of the Lord, has the Angel Moroni on top.

*General Conference: Big church wide meeting held every six months in which the Prophet, Apostles, and other leaders of the Church speak. In other words, my two favorite weekends of the whole year!

Utterly

~ Highlight of the Day: Pouring rain. It never ceases to amaze me! ~

Well I would like to (humbly) point out that I posted every single day in July. And therefore I am utterly exhausted and may take a break. . . maybe.

Favorite joke about utters:

what do you call a cow that just jumped over a barbed wire fence? . . .
utterly destroyed!

Ok, so it's not that funny. It's just the only utter joke I know, though it makes me cringe every time I hear it or tell it.

Also to do with utters, I happened across this on facebook, and then checked out this website a bit, and then filed away in the back of my brain "get Nigerian dwarf goats" right next to "breed chickens" under "when I have a hobby farm".
